“Nowa” Hall

“Nowa” Hall

The “Nowa” Sports Center of the Silesian University of Technology was established in 1993. The main purpose of the facility is to conduct didactic classes for students of the Silesian University of Technology.

After classes, the hall is used for classes of sports clubs and sections, organization of events, fairs, concerts, shows, and conferences.

The facility offers 2 full-size volleyball and basketball courts, gyms, a sauna, a 500-spectator auditorium, a massage parlor, 15 hotel beds and a coffeehouse.

Sports and entertainment hall in Sośnica

The facility has football, volleyball, basketball, football fields and a table tennis room. Sauna is available for the guests as well.

  • Monday to Friday: 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Sports hall at the os. Wojska Polskiego

The hall is equipped with a climbing wall, equipment for football, volleyball and basketball. The auditorium can seat 285 spectators.

OsiR Hall

OsiR Hall

The OSiR Hall of the Silesian University of Technology Sports Center is a place with long traditions. It was built in the 1970s. Since then, occasional small city events have taken place there, boxers, basketballers, and volleyball players fought here for their league duels. Today, the hall is used by students for didactic purposes  and after the learning hours basketballers and volleyball players from Gliwice clubs and sports sections still practice there. The facility also houses a second small hall intended for judo classes.

The complex has a futsal hall, squash halls, a climbing room, dance and martial arts halls as well as fitness facilities and a gym.

In the basement there is a swimming pool and a part connected with biological regeneration – saunas, whirlpools, rest and massage rooms. Social and technical facilities have also been provided. The Hall is adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.
  • Saturday to Sunday: 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.

Górnych Wałów Hall

The main arena of the hall at ul. Górnych Wałów meets the requirements necessary to practice the following sports:

  • basketball (full-size pitch: 15 m × 28 m + 2 m safety zone and the possibility of placing 2 mini-basketball fields),
  • volleyball (full-size pitch: 9 m × 18 m + 3 m safety zone and 2 training pitches),
  • handball (full-size pitch: 19 m × 34.5 m + 1 m and 2 m safety zone),
  • indoor football (training pitch).

The main arena of the hall at ul. Chorzowska meets the requirements necessary to practice the following sports:

  • basketball (full-size court: 15 m × 28 m + 2 m safety zone and the possibility of placing 2 mini-basketball fields),
  • volleyball (full-size court: 9 m × 18 m + 3 m safety zone and 2 training courts),
  • handball (full-size court: 19 m × 34.50 m + 1 m and 2 m safety zone),
  • indoor football (full-size pitch: 20 m × 40 m + 1 m and 2 m safety zone).

“Chwyciarnia” Climbing Wall

“Chwyciarnia” Climbing Wall

The climbing wall in Arena Gliwice occupies one of the walls of the so-called small arena. Its surface area is nearly 1000 square metres and its height is 19 m. The length of the sports routes is up to 25 m. This sports and recreation climbing wall is adapted to the needs of speed climbing in the format enabling to break the world records. Poland’s only wall of interactive games for children aged up to 8.

The hall besides the sports arena with an audience for 400 people, houses an events hall with an auditorium for 103 people and facilities, a library with a reading room, an exhibition space and a mini gym on the terrace.

Gliwice Arena

One of the most modern and largest sports and show halls in Poland. Reportedly, it takes two days to visit all the venues! The Gliwice Hall at 50 Akademicka Street can host competitions in athletics, tennis, volleyball, basketball, handball, indoor football and boxing.
