The design of the temple on a Greek cross floorplan was prepared by a Berlin-based architect, Oertzen. The construction was completed in 1901. This Neo-Gothic church boasts a beautiful, tall, three-element altar and very big, decorative rosette windows. The body of the church is embellished with soaring turrets. The interior of the temple is dominated by a golden statue of Crucified Christ, decorated with elaborate floral motifs. In the wings of the altar there are statues of St. Ann and St. Barbara. Walls of the presbytery are covered with paintings. The side altars are dedicated to the Divine Mercy and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Near the temple there is a monastery of Holy Family Missionaries, who have taken care of the church since 1946.
