The Gliwice Channel, an almost 41-kilometre long waterway, which is a unique work of the pre-war hydrotechnical engineering, was constructed in 1934–1939. Its route begins in Kędzierzyn-Koźle and ends in the Gliwice Port harbour dock in Łabędy. Łabędy Lock, one of six water locks of the Gliwice Channel, is 71.5 m long and 12 m wide.

Cruise ships can use the channel and boat rental is available (also with a skipper). The Marina Gliwice harbour also operates in the Gliwice port.
