Miasto Gliwice - Katowice Special Economic Zone

Katowice Special Economic Zone is the right choice for those companies, which are willing to use the public aid in the form of the tax relief, calculated on the basis of the investment cost or new job creation. The tax relief granted within the Katowice SEZ is compliant with the regulations being in force in the similar institutions operating in the European Union countries.

Currently the Gliwice subzone covers a total area of 678 hectares, of which over 380 hectares have already been sold . The buyers consist of both Polish and foreign companies.

Some of these companies have already built their plants, including:

• General Motors Manufacturing Poland (General Motors), the biggest company in the subzone.
• Other companies from the automotive industry: the Italian Autorobot Zone, Plastal, the German HP Polska and Sils Centre in Gliwice, the American TRW and Tenneco Automotive, and the Polish JMS and NGK Ceramics (a Polish-Japanese manufacturer of ceramic filter cartridges for diesel engines).
• Construction companies: the Italian Mapei (manufacturers of construction chemicals), the Spanish Roca (producers of ceramic bathroom products), and the Austrian Semmelrock Stein + Design (producers of concrete paving blocks).
•  firms from other industries: Mecalux, (a Spanish manufacturer of storage systems), FPG (a French plastics factory), Oasis East (an Irish producer of water distributors), Kalmet (a Polish producer of steel) METAR (a Polish manufacturer of spare parts and small mechanized devices), Sesta Luve Poland (an Italian company with a cooling components factory), BMT and Opinion Strefa Druku (Polish Large Format Printing companies) , Martifer Poland (a Portuguese producer of steel structures),Maco Poland (Austrian) and Rehau (German) providing storage and logistics services, Kalmet -Trans (Poland) providing shipping services, and Kirchhoff Assembly Poland (a German automotive company).
