The Czesław Poborski Museum of Mineral Deposit Geology at the Faculty of Mining and Geology of Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice is the largest scientific and teaching institution of the kind in Upper Silesia, exhibiting collections of useful minerals from all over the world, as well as collections of rock minerals and fossils occurring in the crust of the Earth.
The collections have been obtained predominantly from municipal museums of Upper Silesia and Cieszyn Silesia. Many specimens have been collected by academics, alumni, and students of the Silesian University of Technology.
The Museum is open to visitors from Monday to Friday between 9.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. Large groups must be booked by phone (32 237 26 08) or e-mail (ewa.gluszek@polsl.pl).
