The "Boy and Swan" fountain is a copy of a bronze cast sculpture made according to a model by Theodor Kalide in 1833. The first, cast iron version of the sculpture was presented during the Berlin Exhibition in 1894, the figure was subsequently cast using cast iron, bronze and zinc. This work by Kalide was a marvel across the world and won i.e. a bronze medal during the world exhibition in London in 1851. Copies of the "Boy and Swan" can be found in many Polish and German cities, for example in Chorzów, Legnica, Warsaw or Potsdam.
